WIP Wednesday

So I screwed myself over when I said I’d possibly have a finish by now. The whole family has had one bug after another (I’m hoping that B’s vomiting last night is due to something he and he alone ate!) and I didn’t pick this up for three days. Still hoping to have a finish by next Wed, the Smalls check in date.

I also fell in love with the new Mira release, the Raven Queen. She’s on order now.

I did Mase’s reading with him last night (he usually does this with Grandma). He’s reading early chapter & nonfiction already!

High 5 for Friday!

High Five

This week I’m:

LOVING the visuals on this blog (I’m follower 1000) https://davidoakesimages.wordpress.com/

STITCHING received the latest RR on Tuesday, already selected my portion and am working away like a mad thing. At this rate I’ll have a finish next week, wow.

LISTENING and loving the latest Avalanche City song, “Inside Out” – this is a live version http://tinyurl.com/nznyad6 Maia, this might be one you would like

READING old favourites

ANTICIPATING some time to myself this weekend – I need a beach break. Bethells, here I come!

You Can Quote Me

YCQM is a semi-regular blurb, relating to my One Little Word for 2015, Serenity.

Here’s something I need to remember when stepping out of my comfort zone. I’m often worried that I will fail, that I’ll say the wrong thing, that I will offend, that what I’m working on or towards will turn to custard. To keep feeling that serenity, I need to let go & remember I CAN.

faith bigger than fear

Plus here’s something that struck me as funny. Kiwi’s will get the joke but for everyone else, you need to know what a hangi is 🙂

WIP Wednesday

I’ve had to frog a bit (missed two lines of one colour) but Persephone is marching along nicely now that I’ve finished the confetti that makes up her hair. This is after six stitching nights:

The other piece is Debbie’s RR, with Jacqui’s addition being the Moonlight Laguna mermaid. I am thinking I’ll stitch a portion of Mediterranean Mermaid, as I have that kitted up as my hospital WIP.

I also joined in another FB group today – surely I must be hitting some kind of threshold soon! This one is for the Christmas Couriers (my Sleigh belongs to that group of patterns). Hopefully some inspiration to get more reindeer done! Or… Maybe I use them as the theme for my NZ RR?

Lastly here’s Mase at training tonight. He’s thriving in this group. And I laugh so much on Wednesday nights. It’s a great bunch of kids.

“Do Not Judge.” What Jesus Really Meant

Key learning for me: What this verse really prohibits is self-righteousness where we see ourselves as sinless and others as sinful and therefore set ourselves as arbiters of justice and condemnation.

I’m really posting this because as a Christian I don’t feel my views are valued. I’m totally over this Bruce/Caitlyn thing, feeling very sorry for anyone who is not comfortable in their own skin (there is a difference between being comfortable as yourself but still growing and someone who is too comfortable too) BUT I want to be heard. I want my view to be respected, regardless of the readers’ religion/atheism/viewpoint.

Respect for each other is IMHO a key fundamental Christian theme. So is the message in this image.
