Kia ora e te whanau! Hello family!
It’s Māori language week here in Aotearoa / New Zealand, and it’s been nice to understand more this year than previously. So that’s my first of five – my post covid brain is embracing languages again.
#2 for the week has to be the slow but steady improvement in my health. Only another couple of days of antibiotics left AND I managed five days at work.
#3 has been the house mostly to myself today – four hours of intensive cleaning has me grumpy, but grateful that we have a roof over our heads. Having a bit of space where I could do what I wanted without having to think of anyone else was beneficial.
#4 is my knitting – I started a boomerang shawl on Monday and I’m just over 80 rows in, and it’s taking shape. I am using a mix of fingering wool, a Malabrigo Mechita in Indecita and a more natural, non-dyed alapaca/silk Luxurious Fusion from Alpaca Yarns NZ on 4mm needles to give it a lighter effect.
#5 is winning a signed NZ Warriors jersey from a major sponsor, Wendy’s. Zac says he’ll get it framed for me, and we’ll add a plate with where they finish this season – 4th overall, but still in the finals as I type. UP THE WAHS!
