I am very pleased to report that I finished the changes I wanted to make to Stargazer, and she & I will visit the framer this week. I went from this:

kreinik version
to this:
I think the gold “pops” so much better now, and her hands are much, much smoother.
I like it! The next thing on my list to try is beading, it always looks so pretty
it’s easy too. I use a full cross to fix, but that’s because I like the straight up & down, others use just the one strand/half cross and that’s fine too.
I can’t wait to try! I just need to find a pattern I like
Try a Mill Hill to start with.
I’ve been looking at them, I just haven’t found one that I like yet
So beautiful!
Thanks Erin!
Wow, she is stunning 🙂
thank you!
So beautiful!!!!
Thanks! She’s the one that drew me to Nora’s designs. And back to stitching.
Looks fantastic
Thanks!
wow – your choice of fabric really makes this design gorgeous!
Hello Paula,
I would like to start the Stargazer piece for my mother but I am having a hard time finding the fabric. I absolutely love the fabric you chose and would love to know where you purchased it.
Thank you
Hi Susannah! That dyer is out of business but have you checked The Viewer? You can select Stargazer on the design list, then see her mocked up on fabrics – and you don’t have to know the fabric name as there are colour blocks. Just remember linen dyes darker than evenweave. My girl was on linen, which I normally avoid, but… the fabric.
I did recommend Catherine at Countrystitch Fabrics. She’s here in NZ but ships international. On her site, she has the fabrics listed with the DMC equivalent, so any computer screen colour changes can be avoided. Also Lesley at Under the Sea has great customer service.
Let me know how you get on! I’m in the FB Mira Mira on The Wall & Mirabilia Conversions group as well as Stitch MAYnia. All the best!
